Holcroft Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”) provides the Frimley Health Guidelines app (the “App”) for staff of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. This policy explains what information the App collects, why, and the choices you have.
Summary
- You don’t need an account, and the App never asks for your name, email address or any other personal details.
- We use Google Analytics to understand which guidelines are used, so we can improve the App.
- We don’t sell your information, show adverts or share data for marketing.
Information we collect
Usage information (Google Analytics)
The App uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to record which pages and guidelines are viewed, including any search terms that appear in a page’s address. Google Analytics also collects technical information such as device type, operating system, App version, screen size, approximate location (country or city, derived from your IP address) and a random identifier that recognises repeat use on the same device. We use this information only in aggregate, to understand how the App is used and which guidelines matter most. Google’s handling of this data is described at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Downloading guidelines (Amazon Web Services)
Guidelines are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS). To download them, the App obtains a temporary anonymous access identity from AWS Cognito. This identity isn’t linked to you or to any personal details. As with any internet service, AWS receives your device’s IP address when the App connects. AWS’s privacy notice is at https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/.
Information we don’t collect
The App doesn’t collect your name, contact details, GPS location, contacts, photos, files or any patient information.
How we use information
We use usage information only to operate, maintain and improve the App, for example to decide which guidelines to prioritise. Under UK data protection law, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable and useful service.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers named above (Google and AWS), who process it on our behalf to provide their services. We don’t sell or rent information to anyone.
Retention
Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account and then deleted automatically. AWS access identities are temporary.
Security
All connections between the App and our services are encrypted (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use the security features provided by AWS and Google to protect the information.
Children
The App is intended for healthcare professionals and isn’t directed at children.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete information about you, or object to its use. Because the App doesn’t collect information that identifies you, we usually can’t link analytics data to a particular person. Contact us using the details below. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page and change the date above.
